Join us this summer for new family learning activities – create stunning, large-scale outdoor lanterns with artist & tutor Jennie Quigley in 2hour workshops. On Friday, at dusk, all lanterns created during the week will be illuminated outside the shop in an exciting outdoor exhibition and celebration party. 

Families can book onto one or more workshops during the week.

We are opening-up our large studio space on the ground floor for A-Level students at different times during the summer holidays. This is a working artists’ studio, providing students space to work and access to resources in focused sessions.  Sessions are £5 for 2 hours and includes refreshments. Students can come to learn new art techniques, or simply use the space and time to work on their own projects.

Mixed Media Art Workshop  | With Helen Chester

Create your own contemporary artwork on canvas in this 2hr workshop using acrylic paint techniques & beautiful gold leaf. No previous experience is required.  The techniques you will learn with professional artist, Helen Chester, produce incredible results. Take home your own work of art, ready to hang.

Drawing On Location | Plein Air

Drawing on location at the wonderful White Horse Equestrian Centre, Long River Farm, Newtown, Westbury. A unique day of life drawing on the farm with drawing tutor…and the horses. Meet at the café at 9.45am for coffee and welcomes. Lunches and refreshment are included in the course fee.  

All drawing activities during the day will be safe and enjoyable. Thank you to our partners at the White Horse Equestrian Centre allowing us to offer such a unique drawing experience.

Advanced Acrylic Pour Workshop

Learn new advanced acrylic pour techniques with professional abstract artist, Angie Salfield. Experiment on two canvases to take home. It will take place in an informal friendly environment in a small group. Tea and coffee and all materials will be provided.

Daytime Life Drawing 

A full day of self-guided life drawing with a professional artists’ model.

10am – 3pm, allowing us more time for longer poses.

 *Please arrive at 9.45pm for coffee and set-up *

Please bring own equipment. Refreshments for very civilised tea-breaks/rest periods are provided. Please note we will be breaking for lunch for 1 hour.

Illustrate Your Own Graphic Novel

Working with a published graphic novel illustrator you will learn how to develop your characters, create worlds, explore dynamic drawing styles and learn about the submission process to indie publishers. Come with a synopsis, a sketch book and a pencil. This workshop will be full on…fun.

Friday 26 August 2022, 10am – 5.30pm including a power lunch where we will carb up for the afternoon session.
