The Write Space | with writer’s coach Sam Osbiston
Tutor, Sam Osbiston has written the most beautiful description of the workshop on her website and we don’t want to change a word. So here it is….
In this 3-hour writing class, you will be exploring ways to evoke the spirit of summer – allowing your curiosity to lead you into a creative adventure full of mischief, mystery and magic!
In this playful approach to cultivating your unique writing essence, you will be exploring ways to evoke the spirit of summer and discover how to experiment with voice, style and structure.
You’ll be tapping into the powerful tools of imagination and observation to create characters and build worlds to formulate a final small piece of written work.
The class will balance group and individual activities with gentle encouragement and direction.
By the end of the 3-hours, you will have a completed piece of writing e.g. a short story or poem that can be treasured, shared or even submitted for publication.
is this for you?
As a writer myself, I have come to realise that there is always a benefit to placing yourself in a new environment with unexpected possibilities. So, whether you are just starting out or are stuck between chapters 3 and 4 of writing a book, I can promise you will find a thoroughly different perspective and enhanced creative flow by joining together with others in this inky adventure.
Other potential side effects of attending this class:
writing daily, joyfulness, creative flow, stringing more than two sentences together, completing work, becoming an author, friendship, mischief, action-taking, the need to describe yourself as a writer, eating ice cream, skipping and fulfilment.
Nestled in the heart of Westbury, Spacecraft is an unexpected find. A beautiful gift shop welcomes you as you step through the door, to your left you’ll find a gallery of local artwork but, if you keep walking straight ahead you can take the stairs up to our writing space. This building is full of historical character so make sure you’re wearing comfy shoes whilst you creak your way up.
As the venue is in the older part of town there is no parking on-site and parking restrictions on the nearby streets.
Nearest car park:
The High Street Car Park, Westbury BA13 3BW.
